Moran’s began as Foyleside Tyre and Exhaust Centre on the Strand Road, Derry in 1984, when current owner John Moran partnered with Colm Hume. John took over the entire business in 1990 and success-fully redeveloped and expanded the business a number of times over the course of the next ten years. In 2000 equipped with a new identity, Breico opened their state of the art tyre and exhaust centre, Modern Service Sta-tion, carwash and convenience store. The family run company then really began to expand with the acquisition of the Derry Service Station in 1996, Coleraine Service Station in 2002 and the Ballykelly store in 2004. All of these premises have been extensively redeveloped and trade under the Centra or Supervalu symbol, offering state of the art retail spaces complete with areas for meat, deli and sandwich/hot food counters, fresh food sections, bean to cup coffee machines, training suites and excellent staff facilities. In early 2008, to celebrate the completion of the 6000 sq ft Ballykelly store and with continued progression in mind, they launched their new identity, Moran’s. Bringing them back to basics, the new brand underlines ‘people people’ as the focus, because they know their continued success remains dependant on what has brought them this far, the people – the staff and the happy customers. Moran’s are IIP accredited and have won the Neighbour-hood Retailer Training Initiative award as well as being awarded Centra Store of the Year in 2007.
