Job Title: Cook/Chef

Location: Positions available in Moran's Centra Strand Road and Moran's Kitchens, Ballykelly

Job Type: Full Time/Part Time Available

Salary: up to £14.44 (Excellent rates of pay, with commitment and training this can increase)

 

Department: Fresh Food Deli or Production Kitchen 

Responsible To: Fresh Food Production Manager/Assistant Manager or Fresh Food Deli Manager, Supervisor and General Managers

Co-ordinate with: General Manager, Fresh Food Production Manager, Assistant Managers, Supervisors, Staff Members, Customers and Suppliers.

 

Main Purpose: Quality – Consistently - Constantly

Delivering high quality produce, using only the freshest ingreidents. Ensuring HACCP, food safety and hygiene and quality standards are met. Have a flair and keen interest in relevant food tends and innovation and working closely with the production manager in product development.

Job Specification

We are looking for friendely, dedicated, knowledgable and high energy people to join our busy food production venture. You should be experienced in working in a commerical kitchen environment whether it be in the production, catering, restaurant, cafe, street food business. You will be responsible for cooking recipes from scratch using fresh, quality ingredients alongside promoting a positive, friendly working environment. Your passion for food will be a key driver in your ambitions within the company and you will receive excellent opportunities for further training and development.

 General Responsibilities

  • Ensure the products are delivered  to the highest standard as per company procedures
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining a high standard of food quality control.
  • Ensure everything possible is done to achieve sales targets.
  • Report to the Production Manager on all quality control issues.

Principal Responsibilities

  • To provide a friendly, efficient and polite service to all customers at all times.
  • To ensure the highest standard of customer service is given to all customers at all times.
  • To ensure proper date rotation of all products within designated area
  • To ensure weekly stock taking procedures are adhered to.
  • To ensure purchasing of stock is carried out in order to maintain and to control stock level, so that quality, freshness of goods is of the highest order so as to maximise turnover.
  • To ensure company rules and policies are adhered to. To ensure the highest standards of hygiene are maintained at all times, according to company policy.
  • To ensure HACCP requirements are complied to
  • To ensure all quality and due diligence procedures are adhere to in your department.
  • To ensure that closing down procedures are adhered to
  • To report any issues to management e.g. acts of theft, breakages, failure to follow company policy and procedures 
  • To ensure company uniforms are worn at all times and that personal hygiene is of the highest standard
  • Any other reasonable duties required by management
  • Carry out the duties of your superior / next in line in their absence when asked.
